Germany in the year 2028. The day begins as always fairly
joyless for the 70-year-old Karl, as he is on his way to the office
of old affairs for 12-hour working day.
The world around him has chaged tremendously in recent
decades: The increase in the proportion of eldery people in
society, the destruction of the environment to an apocalytic
extent, and the assimilation of people by the conspiratorial
machinations of a global chemical company let arise an
apocalyptic sentiment.
With the starting relationship with Christina, a doctor living in the
underground, Karl´s monotonous life changes suddenly,
because both attempt to escape the totalitarian order.
They eventually get involved in a magnificent project for the
future which is managed by the former marine engineer Hans.
But the construction of a new micro-world is not without basic
conficts.
Thus Professor Schneider who has already been involved in a
pharmaceutical scandal of unbelievable exent, works withot any
consideration for ethical concerns on the breeding of human life;
and others pursue selfish and extremely risky aims, thus the
success of the new world is questioned again and again.
And so finally ?Eva?, an artificial intelligence capable of learning,
is the one to remind people what humanity really means?.
